Kevin Chris is eleven years old. He lives in the Cassava Farms neighborhood of Limbe, Cameroon. He is a class six pupil of Street Care Foundation who loves studying Arithmetic and desires to become a Mathematics teacher. On Saturday the 14th of May 2016, Kevin coordinated the maiden activities of Educate a Child in Africa, Inc.’s Play and Learn|Leadership club of Cassava Farms. He offered the opening prayer and invited his friends to settle down.
Kevin assisted in separating his friends into two groups. The members of one of the groups were given drawing materials to participate in the ECA game of Self Portrait. The other group was introduced to the ECA learning bricks by the team of Educate a Child in Africa, Inc. Kevin posed different Arithmetic problems for his friends to solve. He also appointed Elmina Louis and Britney Miki to lead. Tene Loic, one of the kids made interesting combinations with the bricks to solve the Arithmetic problems.
The children moved on to construct sentences with the ECA learning bricks. Three groups were formed by the leader and the youngsters took turns in constructing sentences. They scrambled for the bricks and formed sentences. “They are going to sleep,” wrote Elmina, “I love my school,” wrote Britney “Go to the house,” wrote Kevin.
Kevin Chris was very excited to coordinate his peers. He enjoys playing football and also loves computer games. Eleven-year-old Atoh Bryan ended the day by expressing gratitude for the time they spent with the ECA team.
