Twelve -year-old Bryan Miki is a member of Educate a Child in Africa, Inc.’s Play and Learn | Leadership club of Cassava Farm, Limbe, Cameroon. He is a Form One student of Baptist High School Buea. Bryan excels more in Biology and aspires to become a Surgeon. He was excited to be the leader of the club on Saturday the 16th of July 2016. He welcomed his friends and appointed Lewis Ngong to give an opening prayer after which they sang the club’s Anthem.
Solving Arithmetic problems with Educate a Child in Africa, Inc’s learning bricks was the first activity. Bryan led his peers to use the bricks to look for prime numbers, square roots, factors and multiples of figures assigned to them. Mishla-Pride, Diom Dutchelle and Louise Manga were more engaged in the game as they were faster in arriving at solutions to the arithmetic problems. The children took turns in presenting their answers.
The next activity was sentence construction. The club members used Educate a Child in Africa, Inc’s learning bricks to construct sentences such as; ‘I am cooking’, ‘Be a footballer’, ‘Close the zoo’, ‘I am a girl’. The program continued with the game of secret inspiration. Here, tasks were written on pieces of papers and Bryan coordinated his mates to randomly pick up ballots. The youngsters performed the different tasks of the game amidst cheerful applause.
Bryan was happy to be the leader of the day. He likes playing Encarta games in his computer during his free time. Fried rice is his favorite meal and his friend of all times is Diom Samuel, who is also a member of the club.
