On Saturday the 6th of November 2016, members of Educate a Child in Africa, Inc.’s Play and Learn | leadership club of Cassava Farms Limbe, Cameroon assembled. The children seemed excited as they walked into the club premises. Chelsea Moyonga gave an opening prayer while Angel Ebai led her peers in the singing of the club anthem. The children settled dawn in preparation for the fun game activities.
With the Use of Educate a Child in Africa, Inc.’s learning bricks, the club members designed road maps linking the bus station in the city of Limbe to the Regional Hospital and the Post Office. They had fun as they assembled the bricks to complete the task on time. The activity that followed was ‘Banana Boldness’. Reading from cardboard papers, the youngsters presented short sketches conveying information about locally consumed fruits. At the end of this exercise, they got to know the importance of consuming the different fruits.
The game ‘Meaning to me’ was the next activity of the day. Here, the children wrote imaginary letters and orally presented them. Clarita Allotey addressed her letter to the clock. She thanked the clock for making her time conscious in performing her daily duties. She equally pleaded with the clock to be slow in ticking during the Play and Learn | leadership club activities so that she can spend a longer time having fun. Chu Pelagie on her part expressed her gratitude to the rain for blessing the farmers with a good harvest. She equally begged the rain not to fall for long so that she can play outdoors with her friends.
The club members seemed happy through the program. They pledged to be punctual for the next club activity. Ebai gave a closing remark after which Chelsea gave a word of prayer. The youngsters left the hall chatting aloud among themselves.
