Educate a Child in Africa, Inc.’s Play and Learn | Leadership club members of Animal Farms, Limbe, assembled in their club venue on the 21st of January, 2016. The activities commenced with the singing of the club anthem tuned by Terry. The team of Educate a Child in Africa, Inc. introduced ‘Empathy’ as the theme of the day. The meaning of the word empathy and how it can be applicable in their daily activities was explained to the youngsters.

The children played the game of ‘Meaning to Me’. They were given writing materials and asked to write letters to the moon and a fallen tree. Terry addressed her letter to the moon and described its importance. She said “…you are the reason why we stay out doors during the night to play…” Veena expressed how she missed the fallen tree especially as it shaded her from the effects of sunlight when she played with her friends at noon.

With the use of Educate a Child in Africa, Inc.’s learning bricks, the children were engaged in sentence construction. They equally used their creativity to build houses with the bricks. The children presented their various structures showing the different elements found in them.
As the activities came to an end, the children expressed their willingness and desire to be empathetic boys and girls in their respective homes and communities at large.
